Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine!
This week's book that I cannot wait for is...
Hooked by Catherine Greenman
From Goodreads: Thea Galehouse has always known how to take care of herself. With a flighty club-owner mom and a standoffish, recovering-alcoholic dad, Thea has made her own way in her hometown of New York, attending the prestigious and competitive Stuyvesant High School. But one chat with Will, a handsome and witty senior, and she's a goner—completely hooked on him and unable to concentrate on anything else.
Always worried that she loves Will more than he loves her, Thea is pleasantly surprised when their romance weathers his move to college and Will goes out of his way to involve her in his life. But then, Thea misses a period. And that starts Thea and Will on a wild ride that neither of them could have possibly prepared for. When they decide to keep the baby, their concerned parents chip in what they can to keep Will in school and give both teenagers a comfortable place to raise their child. But when a freak accident leaves Thea shaken and threatens to upend their little family altogether, Thea is forced to turn to the last place she would have chosen for comfort: her stiff, uncompromising father.
This smart, touching first novel brims with realistic, beautifully drawn characters, and reminds us that love is never as easy or predictable as we might like it to be.

Okay, don't ask my why, but I love books about pregnancy. I love learning about the inner workings of a baby coming to be. This book sounds especially interesting because they choose to keep the baby. It's more about what happens after that decision than the actual decision, which is different and interesting.
This book doesn't come out until August, but you can be sure that I will be picking it up. Once again, I also love the cover. And, no, I do not watch the pregnancy reality shows. I just like reading about pregnancy. Might make me weird, but oh well.
What books are you looking forward to?
PS. I completely didn't get to do Random Tunes Tuesday yesterday, so I apologize. I was at the doctor's most of the day for a never ending sinus infection and the doctor seems to think I'm allergic to animals. I have four cats and two dogs, so this would be a very bad thing. But, anyway, I just wanted to let you all know why I didn't get around to the music yesterday! Ta!
I am odd like that too, not sure why but I love when the female character gets pregnant haven't figured out why but I love it. Gonna have to check this one out.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon and hope you aren't allergic to your animals.
My WOW
You love books with girls who totally lost the control of their life after meeting a guy. =)
ReplyDeletePregnancy. I know. I feel like it's a miracle. Both strange and I don't know..
Get well!
@BLHmistress
ReplyDeleteAw thanks!
@Steff
ReplyDeleteI like how it can sometimes turn around and be a good thing.
And thank you!
looove the cover,
ReplyDeletebut like I've said before,
I'm kind of sick of teen moms hahaha,
maybe if I stop watching those tv shows for a while I'll be able to read this,
I have until August to decide anyway n.n
@melannie skoobYeah, it might not be your cup of tea, but that's okay. I've never watched any of the teen pregnancy shows, so maybe that's why I'm still fascinated? I have no idea, but I'm really looking forward to it.
